We sit there in silence for a while. I turn and look at him. He has his window open, his elbow resting on the windowsill, and his head resting on his hand. The window is blowing his hair around and the sun is shining brightly off his bright hazel eyes. Then it hit me. <p>

Sure, he's one of the hottest guys I know, but I don't think I could ever like Zack like that. There's just something about him that actually feels more brotherly then boyfriend-like. I guess most girls in my position would be overjoyed to live with him for the reason that he's a popular ladies man, but I'm glad for different reasons. I'm glad that we're starting to get along and hopefully won't have to worry about liking each other as more then friends. <p>

"What are you staring at?" Zack asked, not even turning to face me. The sound of his voice was enough to take me away from my thoughts though. <p>

"Oh, nothing," I said, turning to look out my own window. <p>

Sheryl got in the car. "That went a lot faster then I thought it would. Thank you for hurrying Richelle," she said while fixing her mirrors. <p>

I smiled at her and said, "Oh, no problem. I guess I'm not that picky." <p>

She laughed and then started the car. After slowly pulling out of the parking place, we began pulling out of the parking lot. I was sitting behind the driver's seat, so I couldn't see Sheryl to talk to her, so I looked out my window. Just as we were pulling out of the parking lot, I could see it coming. <p>

In mid turn, a large pickup truck came out of nowhere and hit us, right on the driver's side. I saw it coming and fell over towards Zack out of fear, causing him to look over too. I he pulled me away and I could see as much terror in his eyes that was in mine. The last thing before the impact was Sheryl turning to see it coming and horns blaring, then crash. <p>

It felt like slow motion as it happened. The left side of the car crunched in like a paper airplane hitting a wall. All the mess hid Sheryl from view, and then it hit me. My leg hadn't escaped in time and I could feel it crush with the car. I scream out in pain as the impact jolts me from my pinned leg into Zack. His head bounces off the window, causing it to crack. <p>

The pain is unbearable and I continue crying with large sobs, the sound of the trucks engine in my ears. I can't see much since my vision is blurred. Something warm was running down my left leg. Blood? <p>

It seemed like hours had gone by, when in reality it was only minutes. I began to feel light headed and nauseous. I stopped crying out from the pain in my leg because it just made it hurt even more. Slowly everything began turning black. I can hear sirens as everything else begins to fade. <p>

"Miss," a muffled male voice says. I don't open my eyes and I hear him speak again. "Miss, are you alright?" I slowly open my eyes. I have a large headache and there is a loud ringing in my ears. I'm lying on a stretcher in the middle of the road. I don't feel like speaking, so I give him a little groan to let him know I'm fine. <p>

I look around. My visions a little blurry and there's a sharp pain in my leg. I look down at it and my sweatpants are in shreds and there is white bandaging wrapped around my leg. There are people running back and forth between two cars, both in which I recognize. Then I remember everything that happened. <p>

<I>Sheryl! </I><p>

I quickly sit up and look around for her, but all I can see is an ambulance, a couple police cars, and people running around frantically. One of the walks up to me and I recognize him after blinking. "Zack, are you alright?" <p>

He has an ace bandage wrapped around his wrist and a white bandage around his head like the one around my leg. He nods and I breathe a sigh of relief. "What about your mum?" <p>

He slowly squats down next to me. "She's going to be fine. At least that's what they said." I smiled. <p>

<I>Thank goodness… </I><p>

"Aren't you worried about your leg?" He asked me while looking down at it. <p>

I shake my head from side to side. "The worst that it could be is probably broken. Is it?" <p>

He rolls his eyes. "No, just a couple cuts. They said you'd have to take it easy so they didn't open anymore. You might have to get stitches, but I doubt it." <p>

I hear the ambulance doors close and watch it speed off. "Who was in there?" <p>

"Mom and the guy from the truck. They want to make sure nothing too bad happened to him." She said. I look up at him. "Mom might have a broken arm and broken leg, but they don't know yet." <p>

"Oh," I say. Then I try to stand up. He helps me with his good wrist. "Can we go home?" I was really tired and didn't want to be around here any longer. <p>

Zack looked at me and smiled while nodding his head. He helped me limp over to the nearest bench so we could sit and wait for a taxi, which he had called for earlier on his cell phone. <p>
